As part of the events organized by the institute Science on the Street, you are invited to a lecture by dr. Uroš Novak entitled Natural Biopolymers and their contribution to society 5.0, on Wednesday, 16 November 2022. The event is going to take place as part of a series of lectures named Cup of Science in ZRC Atrium.
Dr. Uroš Novak is head of the research group for Bioplastics, biocomposites and zero-waste technology at the Department of Catalysis and Chemical Reaction Engineering at the National Institute of Chemistry in Ljubljana and co-founder of two start-ups with an ambition to create an environment for the creation of new ones. He is also the conceptual leader and promoter of the Scientists Against Plastic team. With the help of colleagues and supporters they spread the knowledge and solutions about single-use plastic alternatives and present zero-waste solutions in an acceptable and comprehensible way to the general public.
At the lecture you will learn all about biopolymeric materials and learn about new innovative solutions co-created by dr. Uroš Novak’s team. To create a future without waste plastic, they are not looking for substitutes for plastic, but something new, better. That is possible through connection and creation of bonds with the society of the future that puts at the heart a human-being. Their messsage is: Keep your habits, dont leave waste behind!
The Group of Scientists Against Plastics uses exclusively raw materials of natural origin. When we grow up, sometimes we forget about nature and everything it offers us. · Go out, rediscover the life around you and allow your imagination to awaken the child in you. Watch magic happen!
