It is our pleasure to announce that member of our group Scientists against plastic, Petra Jerič, became a finalist of international competition Falling Walls in Art and Science section. Falling Walls is a unique global hub connecting science, business and society since 2009. It organizes conferences where only the most ambitious and forward-thinking minds are presented.
Petra’s idea entitled Refashion introduces a new generation of high fashion “sensitive” clothes. Traditional materials have been replaced by biopolymeric material from agricultural waste without compromising the esthetic, feel or function of the clothes. Added value of the garments is their personalized design according to user’s sensory needs. Materials are not only seen and felt but also have a scent which improves user’s physical and cognitive performance. They are also waterproof, recyclable and biodegradable.
We will be happy to follow the progress and keep our fingers crossed that Petra will succeed to come into the next round.
